JCW Inclusive Movement & Well-Being CIC
Inclusive group classes in the community
I set up the JCW Inclusive Movement And Well-Being CIC (Community Interest Company) in 2023, with two co-directors Jo Anderson and Helen Petterson.
CIC’s are like Limited Companies, except they are not for profit. The status of a CIC is sort of like one down from a registered charity, and CIC’s are registered with Companies House in the same way as limited companies.
The JCW Inclusive Movement And Well-Being CIC currently offers two projects:-
Wave Hub:
The Wave Cafe Hub is open every Thursday in Muswell Hill for people with and without learning disability to connect, eat, practice yoga and fitness and socialise together.
I teach a fitness class at 10.00-10.45AM, and a Movement & Well-Being class 11.00 - 11.45AM (more info below).
School Project:
My second project starting this year is a package of mindful themed yoga, pilates and fitness sessions specifically designed for students from year 6 upwards. The goal of the sessions is two-fold, firstly to improve physical health and fitness, and secondly to help students reflect on some of the difficult emotional issues they face, such as anxiety, stress, confidence, self-belief, self compassion and more. (More info below).

Wave Cafe offers a space for adults with and without disabilities to meet and socialise every Thursday in Muswell Hill, located in the United Reform church.
Fun Fitness For All class - 10.00 - 10.50AM
I teach this class with my son George, who is now in the fitness industry like his Mum! It’s a fun, sociable fitness class, which includes squats, lunges, some relays, boxercise, and strength work with hand weights and bands. We play some good tunes, and generally get a great workout.
Inclusive Everybody Movement & Well-Being class - 11.00 - 11.50
This class is all about social inclusion, we sit in circle and enjoy a different theme each week, some simple easy stretches, a short dance section, and some chill out time too. Ideal for you if you want to connect with others, enjoy gentle exercise and alleviate stress and anxiety.
Everyone is also welcome to join the Community Mile Walk (The Mason Foundation) - meet at the Wave Cafe at 12.00 and walk for a mile together - it’s a lovely chance to walk and talk, get fresh air, improve fitness, boost energy and mood, and connect with others.
There’s no need to book, everyone is welcome.

Schools Student Project
The school student project gives schools online on demand access to 30 minute themed and mindful fitness, pilates and yoga sessions which have been specifically designed for students from Year 6 upwards.
The goal is two-fold, firstly to improve physical fitness, and secondly to help students reflect on issues relevant to them, eg anxiety, self-belief, confidence, anxiety triggers and more.
Charity Work
I have raised over £25,000 over the years for various charity events I have organised, including The Katie Piper Foundation, The North London Hospice, Keene (for children with physical disability), The Haven Breast Cancer charity, Deborah James’s Bowel Babe Fund, and several more.
I am always blown away by how very generous everyone is whenever I run an event, and love the feeling of connected community you get from events like this.
